Constipation Exercise

Two days ago the blog post was about cleansing the colon:

In conjunction with the colon cleanse, a great exercise you can do any time you are constipated is a simple squat*:

  • Stand with feet turned out slightly, keeping heels on the floor
  • Allow body to sink down into a squat position, or as far as you can comfortably go
  • Hold this position
  • Breathe deeply into pelvis and lower back
  • Rock in all directions
  • Stay as long as possible
  • (You can put your back against a wall for support or place a rolled towel or book under heels to help balance)
  • (Hands can be on knees, in prayer position, or close to forehead/eyes, or arms can be loosely grasped around knees as in the illustration)
Issues with the colon fall under the "Earth Element" in Ayuredic Medicine.
