Bell's Palsy - Essential Oils Can Help!

Bell's Palsy is a form of temporary facial weakness or paralysis resulting from damage or trauma to the facial nerves.

The most common symptoms are: an inability to close the eyelid, twitching, impairment of taste, drooping of the mouth, excessive tearing in one eye, or dryness of the eye or mouth.

In most cases Bell's Palsy will last around two weeks.

Sometimes steroids are prescribed to help with the nerve inflammation.

Here is a great Essential Oil blend that some of my clients have found helpful:

  • Fill a 10mL rollerball halfway full with a carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil, sesame oil, etc.)
  • Add:
    • 8 drops Helichrysum Essential Oil
    • 5 drops Marjoram Essential Oil
    • 5 drops White Fir Essential Oil
  • Fill the rollerball the rest of the way up with the carrier oil and insert the rollerball and lid
  • Roll/Shake gently to mix the oils
  • Apply to the face - especially along the Facial nerve (pictured above), and massage in
