A Lifestyle of Peace
Yesterday was the "International Day of Peace" (sorry I'm a day late.........) and I would like to discuss this issue for a moment.
The United Nations declared this day as a day devoted to "commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples."
Their website goes on to explain that "Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace."
How can we achieve Peace on the individual level?

How can we achieve Peace on the individual level?
- Believe that every single human being on the face of the planet is equal and equally important
- Live a lifestyle of love for our fellow man
- Help others and do good deeds
- Know that we are not all going to believe the same thing or live the same way, but other people are just as valuable as we are
- Put others first
- Take care of our own shortcomings in this area so we can be more well rounded and have room for others
- Open your heart and strive to be unselfish
- Be proactive with positive speech, deeds, thoughts, and actions
- Use words of affirmation and eliminate words that have destructive qualities
I encourage you to examine your thoughts, words, and deeds and evaluate your attempts to live in Peace. If there is room to grow, you will find that when you pursue a Lifestyle of Peace, you will reap the personal benefits (happiness, health, joy) as well!
