Earth Element (Qualities)

 

The Element of Earth is the most dense and has the slowest vibration of all the Elements. This is where we literally find our connection to the Earth.  It is our stability and security and a place of human survival.

It encompasses our right "To Have".

When balanced, we feel grounded, stable, protected, satisfied with life, practical, and organized.

When out of balance, we might experience anxiety, lethargy, stubbornness, and paranoia. An out of balance earth element also manifests as hoarding behavior, self neglect, fear of change, being stuck in patterns, overeating, defensiveness, and being hypervigilant.

Physically, the Earth Element corresponds to the entire skeletal system, the teeth, the cervical spine, neck, colon, knees, coccyx, rectum, and anus.

If you feel like your Earth Element may be out of balance, there are great ways to bring it back into balance, including:
  • Go outside and spend time in nature.  Walk barefoot and make contact with the earth, the grass, sand, dirt, etc.
  • Take up gardening - spend time in the dirt/earth
  • Sit in a squatting position for several minutes.  Imagine your tailbone being connected to the earth
  • Visualize tree roots growing out from the bottom of your feet, connecting you to the earth and giving you strength and stability
  • Eat root vegetables that grow underground such as potatoes, beets and carrots
  • Recite positive affirmations such as "I am peaceful, protected, and secure" and "I am safe, I am grounded", etc
Breathe deep and know that you are here on the earth for a purpose and deserve a stable and secure life!
