EMDR - Therapy for Trauma and PTSD

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.

EMDR enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.

These experiences can be "Big-T Traumas" (accidents, fighting in wars, death of loved ones, abuse, rape, etc.), or "little-t traumas" such as repeated ridicule by schoolmates as a child or being belittled by ones parents.

EMDR is regarded as a highly effective treatment and is used Internationally.

Conditions helped by EMDR include:
  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Panic
  • Disturbing Memories
  • PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Emotional Problems
EMDR Treatment typically takes place in the office of a Psychotherapist, Psychologist, or Psychiatrist, and does not require any medication, so this is why it is considered a "Holistic" therapy option.
