Tongue Brushing?? What's That?

Did you know that bacteria live in the "nooks and crannies" of your tongue?

If these bacteria are not removed, they have 24/7 access to your entire body through swallowing and absorption into your bloodstream.

The good news is there is a fast, simple, and inexpensive way to get rid of the bacteria - through tongue brushing!

  • Bacteria on the tongue can lead to bad breath and even tooth damage
  • Bacteria hides in crevices, so it won't be removed by gargling, rinsing, or even oil pulling
Tips for Tongue Brushing:
  • Brush from back to front
  • You can add toothpaste or mouthwash to the brush
  • Brush gently - you don't want to tear the skin
  • Some tongue brushes also have a scraper on one side (loosen the bacteria by brushing and then scrape off the tongue)
  • Rinse and spit after tongue brushing to get rid of the bacteria you just brushed/scraped off
  • Tongue brushes (one is pictured above) can be found in almost any store that carries regular tooth brushes
