Inflammation, digestive issues, a slow immune system?
This tea can help!
Turmeric tea, also known as "Golden Milk" has been used for hundreds of years as a natural anti-inflammatory as well as a digestive and immune boosting aid.
The recipe is simple, and you can experiment with extra ingredients and/or amounts of each ingredient to suit your taste.
For the best beneficial quality, choose fresh ingredients/herbs (preferably non-processed).
Ingredients:
(one serving)
1/4 tsp. ground Turmeric root or Turmeric powder
1/4 tsp. ground Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground Ginger
1/2 tsp. raw, local Honey
1 cup water
1 tbsp. Lemon Juice (freshly squeezed)
Instructions:
Bring water to a boil in a small pot
Add all spices, honey, and lemon juice
Turn off heat
Stir
Cover and let steep for 10 minutes
Stir again and drink!
Variations:
You can substitute milk (almond, coconut, dairy) in place of the water
You can add ground black pepper, cayenne, or coconut oil to the mixture if you like these tastes
Unprocessed maple syrup can be used in place of honey if you prefer
The main ingredients which must be present are the turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger
The key is consistency and drinking a small amount each day is better than drinking a lot one day and then none for several days.
If you stay consistent, you should see improvement within a week or so.
Natural, inexpensive, and effective!!
