Increase Your Energy!

Children seem to be able to run and play all day with no sign of fatigue or sluggishness.
However, as we grow older, we seem to lose this energetic ability and slow down into lethargy and (sometimes) constant tiredness.
What are some ways we can recapture our inborn Energy, boost our mood, and increase our health?
A few of these ways are quite simple actually!
First we need to consider what we are fueling our bodies with.
If we have a large intake of sugar, caffeine, fats, processed foods, and alcohol, then we are NOT going to feel well or have energy.
Our bodies are made to run optimally when fueled with plenty of good, clean water, fruits and vegetables, and whole foods.
Secondly we need to keep moving!!
Life is movement, and if we are sitting most of the day (as many people have to do while sitting at a desk all day for work), then our energy level will continually go down.
Take a break, walk around during the day, and make sure to get some moderate exercise when you get home in the evening.
Third - Replenish your mind.
What does this mean?
Give your mind a break and allow it to settle, calm, and obtain strength from the break.
How can you give your mind a break?
a. Get plenty of sleep each night
b. Sit in a quiet place (outside in nature is wonderful!) and allow yourself to relax and meditate (don't think about the many things on your "to do" list)
c. Feed your mind with positive, peaceful things (scripture, good movies, laughter, books, friends, conversations, relationships)
Negative and violent content causes discord in your mind and decreases your energy.

While there are MANY other things you can do to increase your energy, these three simple suggestions can build a foundation for an energetic and healthy life.
I encourage you to try them today!
