Rosemary - Inhale to Improve Mood and Memory!
This is the time of year that Rosemary bushes appear in the grocery store and make the floral department smell heavenly!!
I am always drawn to its pungent aroma and always purchase one to bring home.
Rosemary is one of the most commonly found herbs on the spice rack in the Mediterranean, and it has wonderful health benefits as well!
You can keep a bush/plant around just for the aroma, use it in cooking as a spice/herb, or use it medicinally (both the Herb and the Essential Oil).
Here are some of the wonderful natural benefits of Rosemary:
- Air freshener
- Improves mood/relieve stress
- Memory booster
- Insect and pest deterrent
- Anti-Inflammatory (muscles, blood vessels, joints)
- Boost heart health/prevent atherosclerosis
- Detoxes the body
- Pain relief - especially for headaches and migraines
- Stimulates blood flow
- Anti-bacterial
- Stomach soother

Rosemary is also a great breath freshener!
(since it is a natural antibacterial agent)
Simply steep Rosemary leaves in a glass of hot water and then gargle or swish in your mouth as you would any mouthwash. Voila! Fresh and clean breath!

Rosemary is also amazing for your hair and scalp.
Add a few drops of Rosemary Essential Oil to your shampoo, or infuse the leaves in a carrier oil such as Sesame or Jojoba for a hair conditioning treatment.
It works great for hair thickening and growth, and also to protect your scalp from irritation and infection.
